We're getting a bit off-topic here, no? I think Birmingham might be better than London purely because it isn't as well-known. When people visit the UK, their minds turn to London, as that's one of the only cities which really gets attention internationally. As such, a lot of people go there all the time. Birmingham, on the other hand, doesn't seem as though it would be as crowded with tourists. I've been to London and everything there seemed pretty good. Unfortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of visiting Birmingham, although I hope to do so in the near future. |

Yes, please stick to the topic guys. There are a few spammish posts here and there. My dad lives in London. He says there's some pretty nice shops and stuff there, but I think he prefers Birmingham. |

Well if I had to chose then I think I would still get to London for some reason but I started to changing my mind with this Birmigham really feels a better place according to that |

The reasons for visiting Birmingham over London in the article are kind of, well, odd is probably the polite way to say it. It has good curries? It has a nice new library? There's a few canals? Don't get me wrong, I've been to Birmingham and it is a really nice place and it isn't as congested as London. But if you're flying halfway around the world, why wouldn't you go to the place that has more history, more tourist attractions and generally things to do? I dunno, sounds like the article is trying to hard to seem "in the know." |

Well that's that article. Maybe the New York one had better examples of stuff that's in Birmingham. But yeh I wouldn't recommend Birmingham over London even though I'm not known for my love of London. I'd expect Liverpool, Edinburgh and Manchester to all be better tourist destinations than Brum although not sure about Manchester. |
